Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), mainly means VDF homopolymer or VDF and fluorinated vinyl monomers copoly mer. PVDF combines the properties of fluoropolymer and general resins. It has not only good chemical resis tance, high temperature resistance, oxidation resistance, weather resistance and radiation resistance, but also piezoelectricity, dielectricity, thermoelectricity and other special properties. PVDF is the second largest fluopolymer in terms of production and consumption. ♦ PVDF should be processed at a temperature of less than 370 °C to avoid toxic gases. Strictly control the contact of high temperature PVDF with copper, silicone dioxide oil or other high temperature grease to avoid premature decomposition of PVDF.
♦PVDF has good fire and smoke suppression properties. But it still emits toxic HF gas and fluorocarbon organic compounds when exposed to open flame. It is strictly prohibited to smoke or work in open fire at the production site in order to prevent the inhalation of harmful gases generated by the decomposition of PVDF at high temperatures, which may cause injury.
